The September Partial Lunar eclipse is the third of four eclipse events in 2024 and is the start of the second and final eclipse season for the year.  The solar eclipse two weeks later on October 2, 2024, is the other eclipse of the season.  The September partial eclipse will have a maximum magnitude of 8.5%, as only a small portion of the moon will pass through the earth’s umbral shadow.

The eclipse will be visible over the entire continental United States, South America, Europe, Africa, and a good portion of Asia.
